Meet The Crew


JOhn Floyd

President/Founder

John Floyd moved to Chattanooga, TN from Los Angeles, California in the early 2000's and was disappointed when looking for a place to board his dogs. After a lot of thought he and his family decided to open the very first Ark location in Chattanooga. Jay knew he had something going when the market collapsed during the recession from 2007-2009 and The Ark's gross sales continued to increase. From the start Jay had a vision to expand and eventually franchise his idea. All efforts were made to create a structured and easily replicated business plan, operations, procedures, and brand. In 2018, once the systems and team were in place Jay decided to franchise The Ark Pet Spa & Hotel.

Johns background is in real estate development and advertising. He has developed several commercial and residential properties in California,Tennessee, and Georgia. During his early years John was in print sales for McCann Erickson.

ADAM HARBIN

VICE PRESIDENT OF FRANCHISE DEVELOPMENT

Adam joined The Ark Crew in 2014 as the marketing manager where he developed a strong online presence for the company and increased brand awareness significantly. Adam then took on additional roles including site selection, facility design, construction management, and crew training. In 2018 he was promoted to Vice President of Franchise Development. Adam was the point man on the development of two Ark locations as well as the formation of the franchise company.


BRITTANY CARDEN

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS - FRONT OF HOUSE

Brittany has been with The Ark since 2012. She has moved up the ranks from a kennel crew, to front desk receptionist, to front desk lead, all the way to general manager. Brittany has joined the corporate crew to oversee the training and development of the front of house operations. She was a important member of the team that created the original company procedures for The Ark Pet Spa & Hotel.

Sarah Speer

Director of Operations - Back of House

Sarah has been with the company since 2017. She began work for The Ark as a kennel manager, but quickly showed her enthusiasm for the corporate side of the business. In 2018 Sarah was promoted to Director of Operations with a focus on back of house operations. She has worked with The Ark crew in developing new crew training procedures for pet behavior, dog body language, pet CPR & first aid, as well as HR training. Sarah is also a certified pet nutritionist. 

Kate Wells

Director of Marketing

Kate joined the crew in 2017 as the director of marketing. She works with our crew to develop new marketing avenues to reach new target markets, all while maintaining and retaining existing guests and their pets. Kate is also the lead graphic designer and content creator for The Ark. Before joining The Ark crew Kate worked with the marketing department at Stuller Inc. as a graphic designer.

DEREK DAVIS

KENNEL MANAGER - FRANCHISE TRAINER

Derek joined the crew in 2008 as a kennel crew member at The Ark's Red Bank location. Derek grew his knowledge and leadership skills and was promoted to kennel manager at The Ark's newest location in Hixson, TN. Derek will be assisting in the training of new franchise owners and their crews.
