John Floyd - CEO & Founder
John Floyd moved to Chattanooga, TN from Los Angeles, California in the early 2000's and was disappointed when looking for a place to board his dogs. After a lot of thought he and his family decided to open the very first Ark location in Chattanooga. Jay knew he had something going when the market collapsed during the recession from 2007-2009 and The Ark's gross sales continued to increase. From the start Jay had a vision to expand and eventually franchise his idea. All efforts were made to create a structured and easily replicated business plan, operations, procedures, and brand. In 2018, once the systems and team were in place Jay decided to franchise The Ark Pet Spa & Hotel.
John's background is in real estate development and advertising. He has developed dozens commercial and residential properties in California, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia. During his early years John was in print sales for McCann Erickson.
Adam Harbin - Vice President of Development
Adam joined The Ark Crew in 2014 as the marketing manager where he developed a strong online presence for the company and increased brand awareness significantly. Adam then took on additional roles including site selection, facility design, construction management, and crew training. In 2018 he was promoted to Vice President of Franchise Development. Adam took the lead in the development of 4 new Ark locations. Adam has a B.S. in Business Marketing from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Sarah Rivas - Director of Operations
Sarah has been with the company since 2017. She began work for The Ark as a kennel manager, but quickly showed her enthusiasm for the corporate side of the business. In 2018 Sarah was promoted to Director of Operations with a focus on back of house operations. She has worked with The Ark crew in developing new crew training procedures for pet behavior, dog body language, pet CPR & first aid, as well as HR training. Sarah is also a certified pet nutritionist.
Julia Ellis - Franchise Support Manager
Julia joined The Ark Crew in September 2020 as the Franchise Support Manager. Prior to joining the Company, Julia was the front desk supervisor and a dental assistant for Coleman Orthodontics from August 2017 to June 2014.
Sawyer Byers - Director of Marketing
Sawyer joined The Ark crew in June 2021 as the Director of Marketing. Before taking control of The Ark's marketing efforts, Sawyer was the Creative Director at Play Back Now in Atlanta, Georgia. Sawyer brings years of marketing, graphic design, and advertising expertise to the crew. Sawyer also graduated from Chattanooga State with a degree in digital media.
Alexandria Hickman - Director of Finance
Alex joined The Ark Crew in June 2021 as the Director of Finance. Prior to joining The Ark, Alex was an accountant and HR generalist at Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer. Alex has over a decade of accounting and finance experience, and a B.S. in Psychology from The University of Tennessee.
