In order to achieve our goals, The Ark Franchising, LLC will concentrate on measured growth in the Southeast US to allow us to support our Franchise Owners to the best of our abilities. We are committed to taking all appropriate steps to ensure success for all Franchise Owners. We would rather have fewer highly successful locations than many marginal operations. We plan to target markets within a 150 mile radius of our corporate headquarters in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Our development team will also use a number of criteria including demographics, psychographics, traffic counts, traffic counts/flow, property price, and several other criteria to determine the best location for your Ark location.We would like to build brand awareness one region at a time before expanding, we believe this is the smartest method to build a strong brand. The Ark's first location opened it's doors in 2006 on Chattanooga, Tennessee's North Shore. The pet boarding and doggy daycare concept was new to the area, but immediately caught on. The Ark's crew was and still is the cornerstone of the business. From day one, crew training and customer service was the most important part of The Ark's plan for success. With all of the crew training and quality systems in place it is no wonder that The Ark Pet Spa & Hotel has shown, on average, double digit growth percentages since opening in 2006 even through the Recession of 2008 and 2009!
The goal was always to find honest, pet lovers to crew The Ark, but not everyone knew how to properly care for pets in a safe and fun manner, that is why The Ark's owners and managers sought guidance from experts in the field. The knowledge gained from the experts trickled down to every member of the crew. To this day crew training is a key to The Ark’s success. The Ark has systems in place to train crew in some of the following fields:

Pre Opening Training
Our initial franchise management training program is available to all franchise owners and up to two others we agree upon prior to the start of training. Before opening an Ark all owners and management must attend and complete the initial franchise management training program.
The Ark's pre opening training consists of three phases lasting a total of 146 hours, 50 hours in the classroom and 96 hours of on the job training. Training will take place at The Ark's headquarters and at your new location.
After the opening of The Ark Pet Spa & Hotel our franchise support crew will work along side the franchise owner and his or her crew for a period of time to ensure the franchise owner is ready to take the reigns. The Ark's support crew will regularly share training aids via online seminars, in person meetings, or webinars. We will also continually try to build relationships with vendors to make sure every Ark is getting the best possible deal on all of their supplies. The Ark support crew will also make regularly scheduled inspections to ensure every Ark is up to The Ark's high standards.

The Ark Pet Spa & Hotel initial investment to open is between $438,514 - $751,149 for our leasehold improvement model and between $912,155 - $1,596,750 for a land purchase and ground up build model. While The Ark does not offer direct financing The Ark is listed on the SBA Franchise Directory which helps speed up the process of acquiring financing using an SBA loan.
